Crafty Takeaways

Here at the Crafty Indian we like to do things differently, in a somewhat crafty way. Like many others we don’t want to continue polluting the planet with plastic by using takeaway containers and bags.

We had a good old think as to how we could reduce our use of plastic and this led us on a journey back in history to a place where our parents came from, India. Indians have been using steel tiffins to carry their food around with them whilst at work in the farms, mills, factories and offices for generations.

We thought this would be a great way for us to serve takeaway food and reduce plastic usage at the same time.

Tiffins are now available! Simply pop in and buy one, or request one when placing your order. They are £17.99 for three tiers, and you’ll get 10% off your food.

In addition, this type of community food system is a system in which food production, processing, distribution and consumption are integrated, to enhance the environmental, economic, social and nutritional health of our wonderful Yorkshire region.
